PipeBurst Pro

The PipeBurst Pro Jr. uses the identical "TickerValve" electric actuator as the PipeBurst Pro does. Our full flow, motorized, TickerValve is frankly, over-engineered to provide the required “extra” power needed occasionally to insure the valve's full operation, even in tough water applications. These conditions can create a mineral build-up on the moving parts in the flow path, inside the valve itself. As simple as water seems to be, it is one of the most difficult fluids to control smoothly due to its lack of lubricity. Oily liquids, while often more difficult to handle, are typically vastly easier to control than simple, plain, H2O.

Because of these potential hazards, our TickerValve cycles back and forth in a 90 degree rotation arc to turn itself On and OFF. This way if it encounters any sort of obstruction while closing that it can't power its way through, it can free itself by re-opening in reverse. 25 years ago our valves rotated round and round stopping every 90 degrees and never reversing; however this cycle pattern caused inherent problems we have long since overcome with the back and forth rotation pattern we use now. Additionally, our exclusive TickerValve features a 3/4 second close time to stop the leak fast, and a SloFlo “Ticking” action to open the valve in several slower steps. This prevents the surge of released energy, in the form of water hammer, from damaging your pipes upon a re-pressurizing of the homes plumbing every time the TickerValve is opened. Quick close and SloFlo open is a PipeBurst Pro systems exclusive feature.

The 12 volt DC gear-motor inside our rugged TickerValve actuator's case is built using all steel gears in its final drive stages. No plastic gears are used in this high torque area! We also use Perma-Lube grease inside the gearbox to eliminate all maintenance of our actuator. The handy, clear, position indicator dome (with a yellow flag inside) on the top of our TickerValve gives immediate visual indication of the valve's position below it. This is very useful during installation, testing and trouble shooting. Again, we have sweated the details so you can rest assured you are getting the best system available.

The central processing unit (the brains of the system) for the PipeBurst Pro Jr. is located in the VIPJunior valve interface controller. The VIPJunior easily mounts to a convenient wall or any handy surface. The compact VIPJunior provides ON-OFF control of the TickerValve via a manual switch mode or a water sensing automatic mode. The audible Chirper alarm warns when a flood condition occurs and its’ Stainless Steel valve closes quickly in 3/4 second.  A series of blinks from its’ lighted LED panel tells you its’ current status.  A push button switch also provides instant manual control as desired.

The PipeBurst Pro Jr. is powered via a UL approved AC wall adapter which is the same exact unit used on the PipeBurst Pro.

The PipeBurst Pro Jr. system uses the same SideKick, weighted stainless steel and gold water sensor, that the PipeBurst Pro does.  It's flexible 20' wire plugs directly into the VIPJunior to provide dependable, point source water detection.

Remote control for the PipeBurst Pro Jr. is accomplished very efficiently, using our exclusive FloTrol wall switch panel.  The FloTrol easily connects to the VIPJunior using any length of cat 3 or equivalent, 5 strand wire.  The FloTrol features ON-OFF, red/green LED lights to indicate the TickerValve position and features a large, single button for quick remote control of its’ TickerValve.  A flashing red LED announces an alarm condition indicating the system has detected a water leak and automatically closed.  The FloTrol allows you to quickly and conveniently close your TickerValve every time you leave your house if desired.  And, when you reopen your TickerValve, it will open using the PipeBurst Pro system’s exclusive, SloFlo delayed opening to eliminate potentially damaging water hammer upon re-pressurization of your water pipes.
